For hazard reduction and ecological planned burns conducted by CSNQ, Kerry develops prescribed burn plans for both simple and complex burns, including fuel load assessments and bushfire attack level (BAL) assessments for asset protection. Kerry has also undertaken weed mapping, aerial transect surveys and collated spatial data for land management projects produce high quality maps, population analyses and reports. Total value of Defence projects managed per annum is typically more than $2 million.

2015 - present, Consultant Aquatic Ecologist and Biometrician for Queensland Nickel Sales. EnviroBiometry are engaged by QNPL to identify macroinvertebrates sampled from freshwater and estuarine sites, as part of their Receiving Environment Monitoring Program (REMP) for the Palmer Nickel and Cobalt Refinery at Yabulu, North Queensland. The project involves sorting and identification (to family level) of invertebrates from bulk samples, calculation of indices (e.g. Shannon Diversity, SIGNAL2), univariate and multivariate statistical analyses, and running AUSRIVAS predictive models. Results are presented in a summary report, with recommendations for improvement to the REMP.

2020 - present, Consultant Ecologist for Hy-Tec Calcium quarry and Cape Cleveland sand quarry. Kerry was engaged to develop a site Weed Management Plan for White Ball Acacia and other weeds at Hy-Tec's quarry at Calcium, and to undertake a rehabilitation assessment and revegetation program at their Cape Cleveland sand quarry (2020/2021).

2015 - present, Consultant Aquatic Macroinvertebrate Taxonomist for various consultancies in QLD, engaged to process samples and identify aquatic macroinvertebrates (freshwater and estuary/marine), often as part of Receiving Environment Monitoring Program obligations (i.e. mining and other industries). Projects have involved NT and QLD AUSRIVAS, and other sampling methodologies, full quantitative assessments, calculation of diversity indices and QA/QC services.

2021 - present, Consulting Ecologist for Downer Defence, to undertake aerial cattle surveys at the Townsville Field Training Area (Dept of Defence). This project involves surveying transects across a 300,000 ha site via helicopter, calculations of population estimates, trend analysis, reporting and photography of cattle brands.

In 2015, Kerry undertook an ecological assessment for Ergon Energy's Doomadgee Solar Farm project, at a remote Aboriginal community in NW Queensland. The assessment involved desktop searches regarding threatened flora and fauna, regulated vegetation and protected ecosystems, as well as a field survey. Advice regarding potential ecological impacts was provided in the assessment report. http://arena.gov.au/project/doomadgee-solar-project/
